About this Edition.
As with all these monthly Appendage's No.10 derives from a larger series of works which, in this case, is my CAPTCHA series where each sculpture derives from a generic 3D model bought online. Deliberately standardised, the works are all made by layering the same fluted polycarbonate sheet; are all produced using exactly the same hand-cut production process; all use the same colour-fade immediately recognisable as Photoshops 8 colour Hue/Saturation scale; and are all scaled to the same overall volume.
The outcome is a taxonomy of seemingly random objects that, having been reduced essentially to images that pixelate and fade in and out of focus, encourage us to literally see through surface, beyond sign and past scale.
